The following recall has been announced:
____
LIGHT FIXTURES
DETAILS: Ceiling-Mounted Light Fixtures imported by Dolan Northwest LLC of Seattle, Wash., doing business as Seattle Lighting, Globe Lighting, Builders Lighting and Destination Lighting; manufactured by Dongguan Young Long Electric Co. Ltd. in China; sold at Builders Lighting, Globe Lighting, Seattle Lighting and online at DestinationLighting.com from September 2008 through September 2009. The round ceiling-mounted light fixtures come in a satin nickel or bronze color with a domed alabaster glass shade. The light fixture is 14 inches in diameter and 5.5 inches high and has two sockets marked "BO AN" that take 75 watt bulbs. The brand name and model number are on the inside of the fixture pan.
WHY: The fixture's socket wire insulation can degrade and lead to charged wires becoming exposed and cause electricity to pass to the metal canopy of the fixture, posing fire and electric shock hazards to consumers.
INCIDENTS: The firm has received two reports of defective fixtures which resulted in the home's Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) tripping. No injuries have been reported.
HOW MANY: About 8,000.
FOR MORE: Contact Dolan Northwest LLC at 888-213-5758 Monday through Friday, from 12 to 8 p.m. EST, or visit the firm's websites online at http://www.seattlelighting.com , http://www.globelighting.com , http://www.builderslighting.com or http://www.destinationlighting.com .
